Description: In my current post as a site labourer my duties are making sure all site is clean and tidy; good housekeeping is important for health and safety, other tasks include elements of bricklaying and creating pedestrian walkways. Since starting here I have undertook more responsibility from ordering materials, inducting new people on site and giving toolbox talks to further train staff. Other tasks were getting properties ready for the NHBC inspector ranging from pre plaster to super structure. As a result of using my initiative the site manager has recently given me opportunities to attend courses. Firstly the CITB site supervisor safety course allows me to be in charge when management are absent and also gave me further health and safety training. My next course was site management fire marshal training and manual handling; this furthers my knowledge of health and safety.

Description: My time was spent as a maintenance man, tasks included work on all property; replacing roof tiles, replacing bricks, minor plumbing, joinery, screw fixings, painting, gardening, safety and responsive work of a high importance due to health and safety and safety with children. It was important to liaison with owner and management to find out work to be done. Due to the nature of this work I also undertook a CRB check; which was clear.

Description: From 2012 I assisted a gardener in all gardening duties from heavy lifting to mowing lawns, cutting back edges, strimming, tidying and maintaining flowerbeds handling money, establishing relationships with customers and meeting new people. During my time gardening I become competent in the use of all main use garden tools including electrical and fuel powered tools. I also understand the importance of keeping them clean and maintained.

Description: The main duties here were laying bricks and breeze blocks tasks ranged from setting out foundations, building houses and all aspects of bricklaying; organising the team and working as part of it. Heavy lifting was vital in this position and tidying and cleaning up my work and our site. I also served my time as an apprentice with this company and when I qualified I was offered a full time position, after seven years unfortunately due to the recession I was made redundant.
