The Bethanie Group is the largest not for profit provider of aged care services and retirement villages in Western Australia, providing over 60 years of professional care services between Geraldton and Bunbury. We currently have an opportunity for an Electrician to fill an integral part of the team at Bethanie Maintenance. You will have the use of a Company vehicle to travel to our Aged Care Homes, Retirement villages and other facilities that range from Mandurah to Yanchep, to carry out maintenance to building, plant and equipment. Electrical tools will also be provided!The ideal applicant will enjoy working on fixed wiring to repair and maintain equipment, has a “can do attitude” and can use their expertise and initiative to problem solve.This is a full time role, Monday to Friday between the hours of 7:30am – 4pm. You will also be required to be on call every 1 in 3 weeks. Additional on call allowance is included.

To be successful in this role you will have the following attributes:

  • Have a broad range of electrical skills in both building and equipment
  • Respond quickly and effectively to maintenance requests
  • Take actions to implement a regular preventative maintenance program
  • Maintain adequate records of all maintenance performed
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
  • Act on client’s and supervisor’s feedback in order to evaluate and improve service
  • Provide assistance or services to other trades when required.


 Essential Criteria:

  • Current A grade electrical licence
  • Current manual C-class drivers’ licence
  • Demonstrated ability to do a wide range of Electrical work
  • Previous experience in an Aged Care facility – desirable
  • Ability to communicate with staff and care recipients
  • Have previous experience managing planned and reactive tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as to work independently
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health requirements
  • Literacy and numeracy skills appropriate to perform the role
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
  • Hold a current police clearance, or is willing to apply for one
