Maintenance Electrician

Our Laverton site requires an industrial electrician with experience in automation to work on a variety of maintenance tasks that contribute to providing a fully functional and safe environment for warehouse staff to perform their Distribution Centre activities without major disruptions to plant and equipment.

This role will be working a rotating roster of 2x night shifts, 2x day shifts, followed by 4x days off.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Undertake continual reviews of plant and equipment maintenance effectiveness, reliability and downtime
  • Make recommendations when plant, equipment and/or componentry has reached end of life, and assist with replacement options or upgrades
  • Recommend refinements of maintenance planning to align with varying maintenance window opportunities and external resource availability
  • Maintaining daily operation of the facility including air compressors, refrigerated dryers, rapid roller doors, dock equipment, pallet racking, pallet wrappers, general machinery and computer based control programs
  • Assist to maintain an up to date preventative maintenance program in line with business rules
  • Have a can-do attitude and willingness to work outside of roles core function from time to time to help out when requested or the need arises

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Appropriate trade qualifications and A grade Licence
  • Minimum of 5 years’ related and relevant work experience
  • Mechanical/Electrical knowledge and aptitude required, in particular experience with PLCs and VSD drives
  • Computer literacy and demonstrated competence in the use of a Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
  • 5S’s – 6S’s methodology knowledge (or ability and willingness to learn)
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Forklift License (advantageous)

The successful candidate will ideally be someone who is analytical and experienced in fault finding, as well as having a very good eye for attention to detail. Safety is a key element to this role, therefore having a sound understanding of safe working practices and their application in a maintenance service work environment will be favourable. You will engage with a variety of operations staff and therefore will be expected to communicate appropriately with staff at all levels and work as a team player.
