We are looking for a qualified Carpenter to join our new Carpentry and Building Solutions company. The ideal candidate would have a qualification in Business Management with experience in managing job sites and helping with the day to day running of a company. You should be able to deal with site foremen, builders, and home owners in a positive and polite manner in order to build lasting relationships. You should be able to interpret drawings and apply the measurements to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures per specifications. Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce quality and functional infrastructure and products. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will also have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the growth of Casur Carpentry within the construction and maintenance industry, creating strong and long-lasting buildings and products. Responsibilities Running jobs sites on a day to day basis Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements Interpret client requests and provide mock-ups for clients to approve prior to commencing work Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed Plan and set out building structures, and other components Designate employees specific work tasks Cut, shape and smooth wood and other material (e.g. villaboard/ cladding) per measurements Plan and design Decks, install doors, frames and hardware, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items Lay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are level and compatible Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance Build scaffolding and other construction structures Requirements Proven experience as a carpentry foreman Proven experience as carpenter Be willing to train other staff Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.) Ability to read technical documents and drawings Willingness to follow safety guidelines always Good knowledge of English Good understanding of basic math Good physical condition and endurance High school diploma; Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required Bonus requirements Holds or can apply for A Carpentry License or A Building license Qualifications and skills Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial and residential construction Level 3 Carpentry and joinery Business Management diploma or higher Ability in training apprentices and improving the skills of carpentry staff Extensive knowledge of power tools, including bench saws, drop saws and skill saws Willingness to work overtime when necessary to deliver the project on time Willingness to work interstate when needed Salary and working hrs. Permanent full-time position 40 hours per week Plenty of over-time Immediate start $64,000 + superannuation (Negotiable for the ideal candidate) Fully maintained vehicle provided
